MODULE 1
(Duration: 6 hours)
Introduction and Basic Configuration in SAP IBP
The first day focuses on the foundational elements of SAP IBP configuration. An overview of key concepts will be introduced; such as creating planning areas, master data types and key figures, which are essential for building and customizing SAP Integrated Business Planning to meet business needs. The will learn how to:
- Create a planning area
- Create and configure attributes and master data types
- Set up time profiles and planning levels
- Create key figures and versions
- Write key figure calculations
MODULE 2
(Duration: 5.5 hours)
Configuration and Model Integration
On day two, the workshop concentrates on configuration tasks and data management within SAP IBP. Participants will learn how to change global configuration parameters, manage data imports, and perform rule-based master data maintenance:
- Activating and deleting planning areas
- Changing global configuration parameters
- Managing phase-out products
- Data import options
- Rule-based master data maintenance
- Exercise on troubleshooting planning area activation issues.
MODULE 3
(Duration: 5.5 hours)
Key Figure Functions and Advanced Configuration
Participants will explore the software collection process and dive into various key figure functions and advanced calculations. The following topics will be discussed:
- Handling software collections
- Implementing disaggregation and using helper key figures
- Configuring change history and snapshot key figures
- Advanced topics: Simplified calculations, period shifts, and aggregation methods
- Hands-on exercises on key figure functions
MODULE 4
(Duration: 6 hours)
Unit & Currency Conversion and Planning Operators
On the fourth day, the focus will be on the practical aspects of unit conversions and the use of planning operators within SAP IBP. Participants will learn how to perform UOM conversions and manage planning operators, along with a challenge exercise to apply these concepts. The following topics will be discussed:
- UOM conversion and price conversion techniques
- Executing unit of measure (UOM) conversions
- Understanding and managing planning operators and application jobs
- Applying knowledge through a challenge exercise.
MODULE 5
(Duration: 5.5 hours)
Versions, Scenarios, and Access Management
The final module is centered around comparing versions and scenarios, managing access and permissions, and applying these concepts through hands-on exercises. Participants will gain practical skills in controlling access and preparing for different planning scenarios within SAP IBP:
- Setting up and managing alerts
- Comparing versions and scenarios
- Preparing access permissions and business roles
- Applying knowledge through a challenge exercise.
