Companies are constantly trying to optimise their #production and make their processes more efficient as global competition leads to high cost and quality pressure and greater product variety. This product and variant diversity increases the dependence on manual assembly processes, especially in assembly with human involvement. In order to increase efficiency, assistance systems in the assembly are being considered, especially in combination with digital technologies.
For this reason, concircle has created a showcase in which the assembly process of a model car is simulated, whereby the employee is supported by various digital technologies. A strong focus was placed on the areas of parts recognition and human-machine interaction.
Building on these two thematic complexes, the showcase was designed with the following features:
- Multimodal interaction via touchscreen, voice commands and hand gestures.
- Component recognition or validation by means of a camera and AI algorithm
- Use of a wearable scanner for traceability-relevant parts with QR code
The entire showcase presented itself as a holistic solution and gives a good overview of possibilities to make assembly processes more efficient through digital technologies and to relieve employees.
