Managing thousands and thousands of master data is a quite cumbersome process. To be specific, in supply chain planning, better quality and results are always rooted in quality and reliable master data. In this project, our client had some specific planning requests to map certain master data into a meaningful planning parameter.
🛠🏠 In the below example, we created several rules to cater to the requirements of our client from the furniture industry.
✅ Some rules are created to update Capacity categories, Base Unit of Measure, Calendars and Location Ratios.
One of the biggest benefits of the created rules is that there’s no need to create the logic in the interface nor the need to create some customized staging tables in the source or execution system. In this way, planners will always have the flexibility to change the set rules without relying much on IT and spending so much time and effort through a normal project or enhancements 🤩
By running the Rules-Based Master Data application jobs, the rules will be automatically applied to the target master data tables.
