On April 17th, 2020, three and a half months after the start of the project, the first Go Live of the global MES template of Bühler AG has successfully taken place in the assembly area. With this, Bühler AG took the first step towards 100% paperless production. By using the SAP ME and the concircle conLABOR package, besides automated order execution and work preparation, a complete traceability in production could be achieved. In addition, digital access to all technical documents was implemented and created the possibility to determine the current status of a customer order transparently and precisely at any time on an intelligent User Interface.
This project phase makes a significant contribution to enhancing transparency, efficiency, and agility of the Bühler Production System. By applying agile project management based on the Scrum methodology and by optimally assembling the project team of many experienced experts, both on the concircle and Bühler side, the first sprint of the project was implemented in a record time of three and a half months with top quality. Thanks to the measures taken, a great leap was achieved in the overall implementation of the global MES template. The second sprint of the project was already started with the same speed and is currently in the development phase.
