Sustainability and SAP PFM

11. April 2023

Let’s talk about sustainability and SAP Product Footprint Management (PFM) 🪴👣, a tool for calculating the carbon footprint of a product 🧮

The tool leverages data from the S/4 system and emission factors to compute the carbon footprint of the products at scale. These product footprints enhance the visibility of the ecologic performance of a company and help it to take necessary measures to increase its sustainability 🌱📈

In the example below ⬇️, you can see the carbon footprint of product Spindle lid for the month of November 2022. SAP provides calculation templates for calculating the carbon footprints of purchased or manufactured products. By pressing the ‘Publish’ button you can send the calculated footprints back to the S/4 system, where they are displayed in a dedicated Fiori App.

It is good to see SAP accepting the challenge posed by climate change and providing tools which enable companies to tackle this issue! 🤩🌳
