Agile business services through smart apps at Vetropack AG
Goals
concircle has been a digitalization partner for many years in the logistics area of Vetropack AG, a leading glass manufacturer for packaging glass from Switzerland with 8 plants throughout Europe. In addition to consulting in SAP S/4 core processes such as materials management or EWM, the focus for Vetropack is on intelligent, mobile apps and cloud services to increase the usability and acceptance of the SAP platform both internally and with external business partners. These include AI-supported, image-processing cloud services for container processing in the warehouse as well as smart mobile applications that optimally support employees in their operational activities.

Challenge
SAP S/4 HANA not only offers a variety of apps for improved usability but is more than ever the “business backbone” of every industrial company. Vetropack AG uses a number of SAP technologies that facilitate the creation of company-specific services and apps. Nevertheless, the classic Fiori app development approach requires significant effort (front-end and back-end development) and access and authorization issues have to be solved, especially for public services. As an innovative SAP user, Vetropack, together with concircle, has now made the first set of “next-generation” apps available to the business.
Benefit
Services for mobile processing of S4 logistics processes are implemented in SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) with direct integration of customers (Cloud Portal).
