Future-Proofing Production for Building Materials:
Beyond SAP MII End of Life
Headquartered in Rohrdorf, Germany, Rohrdorfer is a renowed supplier for the construction industry with more than 150 locations in Germany, Austria, Italy, Hungary, and Slovakia. The group produces high-quality building materials in the areas of cement, ready-mixed concrete, precast elements, and concrete products.
What began as a collaboration with concircle to enhance and extend SAP MII has, with the platform approaching its end of life, evolved into a project to enable a seamless transition to modern technology.
New Technology, Familia User Interface
The extended support for SAP MII is not planned beyond December 31, 2030. Faced with the challenge of modernizing its system in a timely manner without disrupting daily operations, Rohrdorfer aimed to safeguard stability, compliance, and maintenance throughout the process.
The goal was to choose a secure migration path while preserving the familiar user interface for shopfloor workers. This should have ensure that users could continue their work without any change, while minimizing expenses by eliminating the need for additional user training.
Future-proofing production operations with conMC
DThanks to the previous successful collaboration and concircle’s resulting knowledge of the underlying production IT landscape and processes, the company chose concircle as the partner for this transformation project. Subsequently, Rohrdorfer opted for concircle MII Converter, or short conMC, to be implemented at one German and one Austrian location of the group.
The specialized tool was designed to convert any SAP MII–based application into a Node.js / TypeScript application-, preserving database connections and user interfaces. The conversion was thus carried out in a way that the migrated application could immediately be deployed into production.
conMC also provides a runtime environment and administrative modules to run and maintain the converted application. The admin module includes functionalities such as scheduler, user/role management, message monitor, connector, navigation management, and catalog services.

Production well equipped for the future
The tool automatically converted SAP MII applications while keeping the logic, database connections, and user interfaces intact. This approach protected prior development work and reduced re-implementation and training costs. The solution ensured a smooth and rapid transition, allowing business processes to continue without significant disruption.
The collaboration was characterized by excellent communication through weekly meetings and constant exchange, with any emerging bugs
being resolved quickly. By implementing conMC to replace our old SAP MII system, we were able to modernize our operational data acquisition and achieve significant improvements in performance, handling, and technology.
